This French-inspired cottage completely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, it was clear the hosts had thought of everything — every light was on to welcome us, and there were fresh pastries and snacks waiting for us. The attention to detail was incredible throughout our stay: plenty of towels, well-stocked kitchenware, and all the little bathroom extras you don't expect but really appreciate.
The space itself was spotless. And the screened-in porch quickly became our favorite spot — we spent evenings out there laughing and making memories we'll hold onto for a long time.
On top of all that, the hosts were incredibly responsive any time we had a question. This place is a gem, and we'd return in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!
My family stays in quite a few Airbnb’s and Stephanie’s is at the top of the list. Every thing is so well done, from the furnishings to the pastries. It’s got the charm of the Airbnbs of a decade ago where the hosts were truly hosts and the homes were unique and personal. ❤️
I can’t rave enough about how great this place is! We needed a quick solution when getting our floors done so we selected a local home. The hosts were so wonderful, calling us before our stay to get to know us and our specific needs before checking in. They went over all of the additional amenities they had for our small children and even stocked the fridge with eggs and muffins for the kids. There was so much for them to do! What was intended to be a means to an end, a place to stay while we got our floors done, felt more like a vacation. The home is also absolutely adorable, feeing like you just walked into a Nancy Meyers movie. I may need to convince my husband it’s time to redo our bathroom just so we can come back.
We had a wonderful stay at the Walnut Cottage in Barrington. The cottage is absolutely charming and has so much character while still being very comfortable and well equipped. Everything was clean, welcoming, and thoughtfully put together.
We especially loved the peaceful setting and the screened-in veranda, a perfect place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Stephanie was a wonderful host and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. You can tell a lot of care has gone into making this cottage a special place for guests.
Fantastic place in Barrington. Awesome outdoor covered room/area. House is wonderful and had fun games in the game room. Downtown Barrington is super close to all the adventures.
Lots to do in the area. Went to Chicago for a day and that was an easy trip in and out. Lots of parking at the train station. if your looking for a place in Barrington just go ahead and book. Host is amazing and great communication!
